Unique accommodation for 4 in a converted barn adjacent to 40 acres of private woodlands on the owners farm. Spacious, light filled, and very comfortable, this beautiful property has many extra features including a small fairy house in the woods.
Old Oak Barn is a very popular choice for those who enjoy The Big Outdoors! Open all year round we welcome visitors from all over the world and of all ages. Set in a peaceful valley we are surrounded by a stunning natural environment where birdlife, insects and plants flourish. We have lived here for 30 years and in that time have had the opportunity to establish beautiful flower gardens and vegetable plots. Sheep graze the fields here. But the unique feature has to be the 40 acres of semi natural ancient woodlands "Allt Cwmpalis" which we have always managed to a very high standard. In summer they are awash with bluebells.
The two large bedrooms are very light and airy and a travel cot which we can provide will easily fit in either room. Occasionally we sleep 3 small children using a comfy camp bed for the fifth person. The main living room is huge and has two leather sofas, a relaxing rocking chair plus a large dining table to seat 6. The kitchen has all you may need for your holiday plus another large table and chairs for eating. More outside seating is available on the large south facing patio which is a sheltered sun trap in every season. Wifi is available throughout the barn.
The location is perfect for sightseeing in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. - being just 5 minutes off the A40 at St Clears. The Gardens of Wales east of Carmarthen has to be one of our favorite attractions and along with Aberglasney is highly recommended. The many castles of Carmarthenshire for example Kidwelly, Carreg Cennan and Laugharne all make for a delightful day out. The WWT near Lanelli is also a firm favourite. Old Oak Barn is only 20 minutes from the Wales Coast Path and Pendine and Amroth are two of the nearest beaches. Tenby is less than 30 minutes away and is considered by many to be the prettiest seaside town in the whole of Wales.
Many couples choose to stay out of the main school holidays and comment that they find the barn to be very well equipped. We know all the best local eateries and can provide lots of ideas of where to go to find all those less known pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. We believe we go the extra mile to make sure all our visitors have a stress free relaxing holiday.
