Are you stuck for ideas of what to buy some family or friends as Christmas gifts, we sure are. So rather than buying more things to be forgotten and pushed to the back of the wardrobe or drawer - why not treat them to an experience instead?
Give the gift of a day out here in Carmarthenshire, so that they can make some great memories - and have something to look forward to after the excitement of the festive season is over and it’s back to normality again!
Here are some of the experiences that we’ve spotted on offer from of our members, all featured on our visitcarmarthenshire website - this Christmas…
After the busy-ness of the festive season, most people would be grateful of the chance to sit back, relax and be wined and dined – so vouchers for a favourite place to eat is always a good idea. The Warren in Carmarthen, Sosban Llanelli and Plough Rhosmaen are all currently offering a variety of gift vouchers.
Or for something really unique, vouchers are available from Coastal Foraging for some of their courses and experiences – giving a chance to forage and learn about the wonderful sea life that West Wales is renowned for.
Whether a child or adult, we’ve got three suggestions that any animal and nature lover would definitely enjoy.
How about a gift of flying a bird of prey at the British Bird of Prey Centre, located at the National Botanic Garden of Wales? Vouchers are available for their private or group flying experiences – with an unforgettable chance to fly a Kestrel, Red Kite, Buzzard or Owl.
Or perhaps membership to the WWT Wetland Centre Llanelli, with the gift of unlimited visits throughout the year to the Centre – to hand feed the rarest goose in the world, see the colourful flamingos, enjoy bird watching from the hides and more!
You can also buy gift vouchers for riding lessons and experiences at Marros Riding Centre, near Pendine. Family owned and run, there are horses and ponies to suit all standards and ages of riders.
If you’re looking for a gift for someone who loves history and heritage then look no further than National Trust membership and with both Dinefwr Park & Castle and Dolaucothi Goldmines right here in Carmarthenshire – it’s sure to get plenty of use!
Or what about the wonderful Gwili Steam Railway near Carmarthen, which offers a variety of gift vouchers. Whether it be a trip on the steam train, or afternoon tea or Sunday lunch on board a historic locomotive, this is sure to be a magical experience.
If you have a Scarlets rugby supporter in your life, they’ll be your biggest fan if you buy tickets for one of the team’s matches in the New Year - or some Scarlets merchandise...they even have some special Christmas versions on sale at the moment!
Or for a new challenge and something a bit different for that sporty person, how about a voucher for a cable wakeboarding experience or stand up paddleboard lesson with GoWake in Llanelli’s North Dock. Sounds fun!
For those who’ve worked hard throughout the year, why not encourage them to relax a little in 2019. As well as vouchers for overnight and dining experiences, Llety Cynin in St Clears also offer a wide range of spa package vouchers, including Me & Mum Packages and Pamper & Prosecco Packages.
And last but certainly not least, membership to the National Botanic Garden of Wales is just what the doctor ordered - with the chance of free entry throughout the year offering the chance of endless relaxing walks and fresh air amidst beautiful scenery.
