Our Community Council
The main role of Llanarthne Community Council is to be representative, gathering the views of local people and relaying them to the local authorities and other bodies.

The first meeting of Llanarthney Parish Council was held on 4th December 1894 in the Schoolroom of Tabernacle Chapel, Cefneithin. The parish area at that time included: Capel Dewi, Penrhiwgoch, Maesybont, Cefneithin, Foelgastell, Drefach and Gorslas.

Nowadays there are open meetings held on the second Tuesday of the month from October-May in Llanarthne Primary School, and June, July and September at The Old School, Capel Dewi to report on matters of local interest.
A Brief History
Our community is steeped in history, we are extremely proud of our rich heritage and history. A book has been published by Carmarthenshire County Council all about our history, and contains details about our Religion, Education and Railway.

Also famous to the area is Middleton Hall, which now stands as the National Botanical Garden of Wales.
